Sean has brought kids yoga to the Southern Maryland and DC/Metro Area for the past 10 years. Sean has brought yoga to kids thru weekly classes at studios, schools, sports teams and special school programs.
Below you will find the different age groups of kids classes and special class series for kids. For more information about yoga for teens please view my page dedicated to them HERE.
*Grown up & Me Yoga (Strong Walkers – 4yrs)- Partner with your toddler in simple animated poses, games, art, music and breathing exercises that help to strengthen coordination and build body awareness. We’ll bark in downward dog, hiss in cobra pose and flutter our wings in butterfly, while we take a yoga journey that your child will never forget! This fun class provides key bonding methods between parent and child, while strengthening their growing muscles.
*Kids Yoga (Ages 4-6) – This playful class encourages self-expression as well as building social skills. Children will strengthen their bodies as they learn how to focus through breathing and relaxation techniques. Kids sing, draw and play yoga in this energy releasing class.
*Kids Yoga (Ages 6-8) – Improve strength, flexibility, and coordination. Children will learn how to focus and center themselves with various breathing and visualization techniques. They will also learn self-respect and respect for others with the practice of fun and challenging poses, partner and group poses, lots of yoga games, breathing and basic anatomy.
*Kids Yoga (Ages 9-11) – Help build strength and flexibility with more physically challenging postures and flowing sequences. Promote self-confidence, awareness and control. Visualization and breathing exercises are used for overall balance and concentration, which can be applied toward everyday situations. Partner and group poses are emphasized. Age appropriate yoga games are included in every class.
